Clonmel Theatre Guild’s production of John B Keane’s classic play ‘MOLL’ will be staged in the White Memorial Theatre from 20th-23rd May 2015.
Directed by Patricia Harte and with a cast of Clonmel’s finest actors ‘MOLL’ tells the story of a presbytery in Kerry with a new housekeeper. Moll Kettle, played by Juanita Guidera, is an overbearing housekeeper in a house with a canon played by Ger Meagher and his 2 curates played by Edmond Ryan and Desmond Cunningham and has been likened, in some spheres, to a 1970’s version of Father Ted.
Her methods are malicious while the priests’ responses to them are what make this play hilarious. Feeding the canon well and starving the curates is all part of her plan to secure her pension until the Bishop decides to promote the canon and leave Moll behind.
The cast also includes Michael Hennessy as the Bishop, Amanda Kirwan, Maggie Morrissey, Jim Malone, Colum Dunne & Tom Callery and is produced by Pamela O’Riordan.
Be sure to put these dates in your diary, as this is one play you certainly do not want to miss. Tickets are currently available on this website clonmel.shineconsultglobal.com and on our facebook page www.facebook.com/clonmeltheatreguild and will be available in Marian’s Bookshop in early May.
