Don’t Dress for Dinner

October 7, 2021 By Clonmel Theatre Guild

Clonmel Theatre Guild is delighted to announce our much-loved Christmas Dinner Theatre is back in Raheen House Hotel on Tuesday 30 November to Friday 3 December 2021.

Directed by Suzanne Shine, our production this year is Marc Camoletti’s hilarious comedy “Dont Dress for Dinner”. Our previous Marc Camoletti production of “Boeing Boeing” in 2014  was a huge sell-out success and this play promises to be even better.

So what’s it all about?

Bernard is planning a romantic weekend with his chic mistress in his charming converted farmhouse, whilst his wife, Jacqueline, is away. He has arranged for a cordon bleu cook to prepare gourmet delights and has invited his best friend, Robert, along too to provide the alibi. It’s foolproof; what could possibly go wrong? Well…. suppose Robert turns up not realising quite why he has been invited. Suppose Robert and Jacqueline are secret lovers and consequently determined that Jacqueline will NOT leave for the weekend. Suppose the cook has to pretend to be the mistress and the mistress is unable to cook. Suppose everyone’s alibi gets confused with everyone else’s. An evening of hilarious confusion ensues as Bernard and Robert improvise at breakneck speed.

The cast are: –

Bernard – Paul Sheehan
Jacqueline – Patricia Harte
Robert – Neill Bourke
Suzette – Amanda Kirwan
Suzanne – Caroline Cotter
George – Declan Robinson

Tickets go on sale in Marian’s Bookshop 052 6123813 on Friday 5th November. Marian’s opening hours are 9.30 – 5.30 Monday-Friday and 12-4 Saturday. Marian’s now has the facility to take credit card bookings over the phone. Alternatively tickets can be purchased online here on the website and on the guild’s facebook page.

As this is sure to sell out fast, we recommend booking early. The raffle, sponsored by Clonmel Theatre Guild, is in aid of Cuan Saor (Women’s Refuge). Please note the earlier start time of 7.30pm.

IMPORTANT NOTICE!!!!
A Covid-19 Vaccine Certificate, Photo ID, Face Covering & Contact Number are required to attend this event. Failure to show proof of vaccination will result in entry refusal & no refund.
