MOLL to benefit children in Moldova

May 20, 2015 By Clonmel Theatre Guild

Clonmel Theatre Guild’s production of John B Keane’s hilarious comedy MOLL takes to the stage in the While Memorial Theatre tonight 20th May and runs until Saturday 23rd May. While the cast will entertain the audience, the proceeds from the raffle tonight will benefit Mission Moldova, a fundraising campaign to provide Music & Arts Scholarships to children in the orphanage in Carpineni, Moldova.

Mission MoldovaMission Moldova plans to raise funds to buy six children an instrument of their own and to pay for lessons at the music and arts school for three years. Although the children in the orphanage have what they need despite being outside what is considered a normal family environment, it’s the little things that are not available to them, all those little activities that a parent would give a child, such as music or art lessons after school. Mission Moldova believes that if a child has such a gift, that it should be nurtured. When the children are old enough to leave the orphanages in Moldova, they return to civilian life, and their vision is that those who are successful on their scholarship programme will have a little edge that will assist them as they endeavour to go forward and live fruitful, happy lives.

The cast of MOLL are the very talented Juanita Guidera, Ger Meagher, Edmond Ryan, Desmond Cunningham, Michael Hennessy, Maggie Morrissey, Amanda Kirwan, Jim Malone, Tom Callery & Colum Dunne. It is directed by the guild’s well known and much loved Patricia Harte, assisted by Suzanne Dunne and is produced by Pamela O’Riordan.

Tickets are still available and can be got on the door each night or from Marian’s Bookshop or on the guild’s website clonmel.shineconsultglobal.com and facebook page.

This is a fantastic show and one you will be sorry to miss, so be sure to get a ticket and join us for a wonderful nights entertainment while supporting a great cause.
