Noises off – Play by Michael Frayn (2001)

March 1, 2001 By Clonmel TheatreGuild

Performed: March 2001

Cast Noises Off 2001Noises Off centres on a second-rate theatre company’s disastrous tour of a bawdy (and badly written) bedroom farce called ‘Nothing On’. Lines are forgotten, props are misplaced and the numerous relationships between the actors and their hapless director constantly threaten to derail the performance.

A hugely challenging production, the three acts of Noises Off watches the ‘Nothing On’ cast stumble their way through their final rehearsal, joins them for a disaster-filled matinee afternoon show, and witnesses events spiral completely out of control at their final performance. Audiences around the world have taken Noises Off to their hearts and its status as a classic is undisputed.

Director: Michael Pollard

Vicki (Brooke) – Rachael Culligan
Philip Brent (Freddy) – Edmond Ryan
