The chair of the Clonmel Theatre Guild would like to thank Suzanne for all her hard work during her role as AD in 2023 and 2024.
She began by organising an Open Evening along with two Halloween events, including a reading at the library and then a spooky storytelling session for children. Following this, the 400th anniversary of the first publication of Shakespeare’s work was marked with some readings by CTG in Clonmel library.
Suzanne then went on to successfully apply for funding for a Culture Night event in 2023. This was the first time CTG had been involved in this event, which resulted in a production of Sacred Old Cow, a new piece written by Paul Sheehan. Suzanne introduced CTG to online bookings for tickets for the winter play The Odd Couple and a pop-up box office was tried out for Blithe Spirit, the spring play, along with a preview of the play in the Showgrounds Shopping Centre. She also organised for CTG members to attending an acting workshop in the Gaiety School of Acting.
Following on from the success of the 2023 event, the Guild applied for funding for Culture Night 2024 and again secured funding for the very successful Story Trail which was written and directed by Suzanne. She also took part in all the productions in a number of roles: director, actor, producer and writer.
